1. Inflows into the equity mutual funds hit a new high of 40 thousand 608 crore rupees in the last month, on back of buoyant equity market and huge fund raise through new fund offers. The equity funds inflow was up 17 percent in June 2024 compare to the inflow in the month of May 2024.

2. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has initiated talks with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to develop an AI Audit Tool aimed at overseeing corporate India and detecting frauds. ICAI President Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has confirmed that a proposal has been sent to MeitY Secretary Krishnan.

3. Regional Rural Bank (RRB) employees, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) has mandated the implementation of salary revisions according to the 12th Bipartite Settlement (BPS). The notification dated July 8, 2024 has ordered all the Chairpersons of the RRBs directed to implement the revised salary on par with the Public Sector Banks.

4. The State-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Tuesday introduced a new security feature ‘Safety Ring’ within its internet banking system and mobile banking system in response to the increasing number of cyber frauds.

1. The 12th meeting of the India-UAE Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) concluded in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step in bolstering defense relations between the two nations. Led by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad, the Indian delegation met with their UAE counterparts, headed by Brigadier General Staff Jamal Ebrahim Mohamed Almazrooqi.

2. The Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won an order for part construction of two Fleet Support Ships (FSS) meant for Indian Navy from defence PSU Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL).

After the Cabinet Committee on Security gave its nod in August, last year, the Indian Navy signed a contract with Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) for design and construction of five FSS at an overall cost of approximately ₹19,000 crore.

3. India’s defence sector has achieved record-breaking production and export figures in the financial year 2023-24. The domestic production reached a record ₹1.27 lakh crore, marking a 16.7% increase over the previous year and a staggering 60% growth compared to 2019-20.

4. PM Modi on Tuesday paid his respects at the Unknown Soldiers’ Tomb in Moscow during his two-day official visit to Russia for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.

5. An ongoing investigation into the first-ever crash of the Indian Air Force’s light combat aircraft TEJAS MK-1 three months ago points towards engine seizure as the most likely cause of the accident.

The aircraft that crashed was part of the 40 MK-1 jets inducted by IAF in the initial operational clearance.

6. The Indian Army will add 113 electric buses to its fleet, supporting the nation’s green initiatives. It will use the buses to transport troops in the plains and semi-hilly areas and is conducting trials for the procurement.
