Chandigarh, 6th July 2024: The Indian Premier League franchise Punjab Kings on Saturday celebrated the return of Arshdeep Singh at the Chandigarh International Airport. Arshdeep, who has been a part of the IPL team since 2019, was one of the key figures in the recently concluded 2024 T20 World Cup-winning Indian Cricket Team.
Arshdeep, who was joined by his family, was met with a warm and colourful welcome with dhol processions and performances by bhangra troupes at the airport. Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon, CFO LC Gupta, CCO Saurabh Arora and Ashish Tuli, General Manager, Cricketing Operations felicitated the star bowler at the airport.
The fans gathered at the airport to welcome the player, as the Punjab Kings officials felicitated him with garlands and distributed sweets. Arshdeep’s family members too, joined in on the celebrations as they danced along with the troupe and fans, showing their bhangra skills.
Showcasing his spectacular skills with the ball, the left-arm fast bowler finished the World T20 tournament as the joint-leading wicket-taker (tied with Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Faaroqi) with 17 scalps. The 25-year-old also became the bowler with the highest wickets tally in a single T20 World Cup edition (tied with Faaroqi).
