3. Kiran Pahal breached the Paris Olympics qualification mark in women’s 400m at the Inter-State National Athletics Championships on Thursday.
Running in the women’s 400m semi-final, Kiran clocked a stunning 50.92s to breach the 2024 Olympics qualification mark of 50.95s.
4. Commonwealth Games champion triple jumper Eldhose Paul on Thursday pulled out of the race to qualify for next month’s Paris Olympics due to a heel bone fracture.
The 27-year-old Eldhose, who was set to make a final attempt at the qualification at the ongoing National Inter-State Athletics Championships in Panchkula.
5. Kmoin Wahlang, the 76-year-old distance running sensation from Meghalaya, has been selected to join the Indian athletics team for the prestigious 13th Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024 in Gold Coast, Australia.
The event, scheduled from November 1 to 10, will see Wahlang competing in the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m races in the 75-plus age category.
