1. PM Modi will lead the nation on the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations in Srinagar today.

2. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has appointed BJP’s Lok Sabha Member Bhartruhari Mahtab as Protem Speaker to perform the duties of Speaker till the election of the Speaker.

3. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the government will constitute a high level committee to look into the issues related to National Testing Agency (NTA). he said, recommendations of the high-level committee will further improve the functioning of NTA, its structure, functioning, examination process, transparency and data security protocol.

4. The Jharkhand government has taken decision for a comprehensive caste-based survey in the state. This decision was taken at cabinet meeting which was chaired by the Chief Minister Champai Soren.

5. The Bihar government has given approval for rolling out of Metro rail services in four cities Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur.

6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that Jammu and Kashmir will get back its statehood soon. Addressing an event after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating 84 developmental projects worth 1,500 crore rupee in Srinagar.

7. Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit Mukherjee on Wednesday expressed his desire to rejoin the Congress. He was earlier with the grand old party but had joined the TMC in 2021.

8. The Telugu Desam-led Andhra Pradesh government would introduce the ‘free travel for women’ system in APSRTC buses within a month’s time, as per the party’s election promise.

9. Andhra pradesh Deputy chief minister K. Pawan Kalyan has ordered a social audit of funds used in villages across AP’s 26 districts and said the employment guarantee funds should reach the needy without any misuse.

10. To realise the vision of saturating National Highways with green cover, NHAI will undertake a unique initiative to plant Miyawaki plantation on land parcels adjacent to National Highways at various locations. Total land area of over 53 acres has been identified at different places in and around Delhi-NCR to establish the Miyawaki plantations.

11. The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme (NFIES), allocating Rs. 2254.43 crore from 2024-25 to 2028-29.

12. The Madhya Pradesh government has completed preparations for its ambitious cheetah reintroduction project at Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary.

13. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme for the implementation of offshore wind energy projects in India. The total financial outlay for this scheme is ₹7,453 crore.

14. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed IAS officer Ashwani Kumar as the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) with immediate effect.

15. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra during the next five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also very likely to continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya during the next two days.

1. A Delhi court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case connected to the now-scrapped liquor policy. He was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in view of general elections. He surrendered on 2nd June.

2. In Bihar, the Patna High Court struck down the state government’s decision to hike the reservation for backward classes from 50 to 65 per cent in government jobs and educational institutions.

3. In an escalation of inter-state bus travel issues, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday halted Bengaluru-bound buses from Thiruvananthapuram. The buses were halted at midnight citing disputes in the One India One Tax policy.

4. Enforcement Directorate on Thursday searched about 35 premises in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Nagpur as part of a money laundering probe against a company and its promoters accused of perpetrating an alleged bank loan fraud of more than Rs 20,000 crore.

5. Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR into the UGC-NET paper leak case on Thursday against unidentified persons on a reference from the Union Education Ministry.

6. Eight IIT-Bombay students have been penalised with fines of up to Rs 1.2 lakh for staging a play, Raahovan, during the institute’s annual performing arts festival on March 31. The play, loosely based on the Ramayana, depicted the lead characters in a “derogatory manner,” claimed complaints made by a section of students.

7. Death toll in Tamil Nadu toxic hooch case goes up to 34; AIADMK asks CM Stalin to resign.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday announced that the government is forming a one-man commission to probe the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy in which 34 people have been killed while over 109 people have been injured.

The state government has moved seven SPs and 1000 policemen to Kallakurichi.

8. In Telangana, Rupa Devi, the wife of Choppadandi Congress MLA Dr. Medipalli Satyam, died by suicide. The incident took place on Thursday night at their residence in Panchasila Colony, Alwal.

1. India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has imposed a fine of 188.2 million rupees ($2.25 million) on the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance, for operating in the country in violation of local anti-money laundering regulations.

4. The United Kingdom (UK) has overtaken China to become India’s fourth-largest export market in May 2024, commerce department data showed. The UK was India’s sixth-largest export destination in May last year. While exports to the UK grew by a third to $1.37 billion in May.

5. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and Mastercard India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on enhancing cyber-resilience in India’s financial sector. This partnership aims to leverage the shared expertise of both entities in cybersecurity incident response, capacity building, and advanced malware analysis.
