BHOPAL, MAY 19 2024 : Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Polling in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai, will be conducted on Monday. More than 2.46 crore individuals are eligible to cast their vote and determine the fate of 264 candidates. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm in 24,553 polling centers.
Lok Sabha seats up for the election polls in this phase are Mumbai North, Nashik, Mumbai North Central, Bhiwandi, Mumbai North West, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai South, Thane, Kalyan, Palghar, Mumbai North East, Dindori, and Dhule.
Union ministers Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North), Kapil Patil (Bhiwandi), Bharati Pawar (Dindori) are among the pivotal candidates of the BJP, which has also fielded lawyer Ujjwal Nikam from the Mumbai North Central. Shiv SenaтАЩs Shrikant Shinde (Kalyan) and town Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad (Mumbai North Central) are also in the fray.
The elections will held on between two alliances: the ruling Mahayuti, which includes the BJP, NCP (led by Ajit Pawar), and a faction of Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde), and the MVA or Maha Aghadi, comprising Sena (led by Uddhav Thackeray), NCP (led by Sharad Pawar), and Congress.

Banks: Banks will continue to remain closed for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Election. According to the RBI bank holiday list, banks in Mumbai, Belapur and Lucknow,will be closed.
Stock market: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will stay closed on May 20 because of the fifth phase of polling for the general election in Mumbai.
Public holiday: According to ET, the Maharashtra government circular states that workers, officers, employees, and voters in the specified location will be granted a paid holiday on polling day. In anticipation of this phase, a public holiday has been announced in Lucknow.
Educational institutions: On Voting day, schools and colleges will stay closed as they serve as polling centers.
Closure of liquor shops: Liquor shops will continue closed in the polling constituencies, starting 48 hours before the voting,
following with the limitations put in place.
