1. China’s ruling party The Communist Party of China will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding on 1st July 2021. China President Xi presented centenary medals to 29 CPC members on Tuesday who have made “outstanding contributions to the Party and the people.
2. Russia reported 669 coronavirus deaths over the past 24 hours, a record number of fatalities for the second day. The country is grappling with a spike of infections spurred by the highly infectious Delta variant and sluggish vaccination rates.
3. Bangladesh issued the notification for the strict lockdown starting from today, 1st July to 7th July in order to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.
4. A shooting rampage down a main street in Haiti’s capital killed at least 15 people. Bodies were found scattered on sidewalks along a main road in Delmas 32, which is a bustling community within Port-au-Prince. The U.S. Embassy condemned the slayings in a statement, saying it was deeply concerned by the loss of life and general insecurity.
