1. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is on an official visit to Manila, held a ‘warm and productive’ meeting with Philippines Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Enrique Manalo on Tuesday and discussed wide-ranging issues of security and maritime cooperation.

2. TATA Group-backed telecom gear-maker Tejas Networks on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with Telecom Egypt, Information Technology Industry Development Agency and National Telecom Institute to replicate its experience of implementing Bharatnet (Rural Broadband Project) and NKN (National Knowledge Network) projects in Egypt.

3. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has honoured an Indian scientist Professor Jayant Murthy, an esteemed astrophysicist, has been recognized for his remarkable contributions to the field by having an asteroid named after him – (215884) Jayantmurthy.

1. Five Chinese nationals were killed in a suicide attack in Besham city in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Chinese nationals were reportedly, engineers who were going to Dasu camp from Islamabad in Pakistan.

Notably, Dasu town is the site of a major dam and the area has been attacked in the past. A blast on a bus killed 13 people, including nine Chinese nationals, in 2021.

2. The international Baloch rights organization, Baloch National Movement (BNM) organised a massive protest in Amsterdam, Netherlands against Pakistan’s forced occupation of Baluchistan.

3. Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged for the first time that “radical Islamists” were responsible for last week’s attack on a concert hall outside Moscow. However, he suggested that Ukraine was also somehow involved.

4. Pakistan’s second-largest naval air station, the PNS Siddique in Turbat, came under attack on Tuesday (Mar 26). The Majeed Brigade of the Balochistan Liberation Army, a proscribed separatist militant organisation based in Afghanistan, has claimed responsibility for the heavy attack that was marked by intense gunfire and multiple explosions.

5. The 2.57 km-long Francis Scott Key Bridge in US’s Baltimore city collapsed after a cargo ship crashed into it in the early hours of Tuesday. All crew members safe, rescue operations ongoing.
