1. PM Modi became the first foreign head of government to receive Bhutan’s highest civilian award, the ‘Order of Druk Gyalpo’.

(b) PM Modi is on a two-day State visit to Bhutan, held a meeting with former Bhutan King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. Wangchuck was Bhutan’s fourth Druk Gyalpo (King) and is the father of the current Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

(c) The highest civilian honour of Bhutan has been conferred on PM Modi for his “outstanding embodiment of national, regional, and global leadership” and for how India has become the fastest growing economy in the world.

2. China said it firmly opposes the US recognition of Arunachal Pradesh as part of Indian territory and affirmed that Washington has nothing to do with the India-China border dispute.

3. UAE Ambassador to India, Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, hosted a ‘Ramadan Iftar’ event at the UAE Embassy in the national capital.

4. The UN General Assembly has unanimously adopted a landmark resolution on the promotion of “safe, secure and trustworthy” artificial intelligence (AI) systems that will also benefit sustainable development for all.The nonbinding resolution proposed by the US and co-sponsored by India among 120 member countries was adopted by consensus without a vote on Thursday.

5. India has launched ‘Operation Indravati’ to evacuate its nationals from Haiti to the Dominican Republic, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated in a post on social media platform X.

Haiti, situated in the Caribbean, has plunged into chaos with armed gangs seizing control of the streets, resulting in the virtual disappearance of the government.

4. Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has struck a reconciliatory tone after his anti-India rhetoric, saying India will continue to remain his country’s “closest ally” as he sought a debt relief from New Delhi. The Maldives owed approximately $400.9 million to India at the end of last year.

5. High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Technology, is organizing a conference on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) on the 26th of March in Colombo. The conference will explore the transformative potential of DPI for enabling service delivery, empowering communities by fostering inclusivity and enriching the economy by driving innovation.

1. MOSCOW ATTACK : ISIS claims responsibility for mass shooting, The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the harrowing terrorist attack that took place at a Moscow concert hall on Friday (Mar 22) and resulted in the death of at least 40 people.

2. Human and Social rights activist and Secretary of Information in the Europe Zone of United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP), Sajid Hussain participated in the 38th meeting of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

During his intervention at the meeting, Husain exposed how the populace of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) are suffering at the hands of the Pakistani administration.

4. Every year, March 22 is observed as World Water Day to raise awareness about the global water crisis and the importance of water. The day aims to inspire people to sustainably manage freshwater resources.

5. United Nations Security Council is set to vote on Friday on the United States’ resolution calling for an immediate and sustained cease-fire in Gaza to protect civilians and enable humanitarian aid for Palestinians.
