1. Security agencies at Mumbai’s Nhava Sheva port intercepted and seized the consignment of a Karachi-bound ship from China after it was found carrying a dual-use consignment with implications for Pakistan’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.
2. *Classical Dancer from India Shot dead in US;* *Indian Condemns ‘reprehensible Gun Attack* ‘ : Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam dancer Amarnath Ghosh, who hailed from West Bengal’s Birbhum district and migrated to the US last year “to follow his dancing dreams,” was shot several times near the border of St Louis’ Academy. He died on the spot. Ghosh was pursuing his master’s in the Performing Arts Department of Washington University.
3. One of the most wanted Pakistan-based Kashmiri terrorist commanders, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman, is learnt to have been found dead under mysterious circumstances in Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was the self-styled secretary general of UJC and emir of TuM, hailing from Pulwama.
4. Google began removing the apps of 10 companies in India on Friday, including some popular matrimony apps such as Bharat Matrimony, India’s Matrimony.com (MATI.NS), Christian Matrimony, Muslim Matrimony, Jodii, and job search app Naukri were removed from Google’s Play Store in a dispute over service fee payments.
5. The Mizoram Assembly on February 28 and the Nagaland Assembly on March 1 adopted a resolution to oppose the Centre’s decision to fence the 1,643 km long porous India-Myanmar border and scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR) agreement that allows cross-border movement up to 16 km without travel documents.
6. Thailand has replaced its Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Pimchanok Vonkorpon Pitfield, after strong objections by India to her remarks on New Delhi’s rice procurement programme.
As per sources, India lodged a protest over remarks by the Thai envoy to WTO where she accused India of using subsidised rice procured for public distribution systems to capture the export market.

1. A Russian drone attack on an apartment block in the southern port city of Odesa has killed at least Eight people.
2. At least 11 people lost their lives after an Israeli strike hit tents housing displaced civilians near a hospital in the southern city of Rafah on Saturday (March 2), said Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.
3. The US military executed its inaugural humanitarian aid airdrop into Gaza, utilizing three C-130 planes. The airdrop involved more than 35,000 meals.
4. Ex-Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan has reportedly backed Pashtun-khwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the opposition’s presidential candidate against Asif Ali Zardari, the joint candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP). Imran Khan has urged PTI’s lawmakers to support Achakzai in the upcoming presidential elections, slated to take place on 9 March.
5. At least 46 people were killed, and numerous others sustained injuries as a massive fire broke out in a seven-story building in Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka.
