1. Canada ignored India’s request for sharing information about any concerns they may have, and instead made allegations in public against India over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said.
2. Iran’s Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday discussed the development of cooperation between India, Iran.

6. Amid the ongoing diplomatic row with India, a leader from the Opposition ranks in Maldives requested President Mohamed Muizzu to apologise to India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The demand was raised by Gasuim Ibrahim, leader of the Jumhoori Party, who demanded the Muizzu-led government to seek “diplomatic reconciliation” with India in a bid to mend bilateral ties.

The Indian representative engaged in a meeting with Afghanistan’s Taliban-appointed Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and expressed India’s active participation in both international and regional initiatives concerning Afghanistan. The representative also emphasised India’s unwavering support for all efforts aimed at fostering stability and development in the war-torn nation.

1. A Pakistani anti-graft court jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Khan for 14 years each on charges of illegally selling state gifts, This is the third conviction for the embattled former prime minister in the last few months.

The verdict also includes a 10-year disqualification from holding public office, said his party. Khan and his wife are charged with illegally selling gifts worth more than 140 million rupees ($501,000) in state possession and received during his 2018-2022 premiership.

After Taylor Swift became a victim of deepfake pornography and her search results on X were polluted with explicit nude deepfake images of the singer, a bipartisan group of US senators introduced a bill that would criminalise the spread of nonconsensual, sexualised images generated by artificial intelligence.
