1. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Sarma, asks police to file case against Rahul Gandhi after his supporters break barricades. Congress party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (United India justice march) was barred from entering the northeast Indian city of Guwahati on Tuesday (Jan 23), which led to clashes between the party workers and police officers.
2. A day after the Ram Temple inauguration in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, the Karnataka government imposed prohibitory orders following a quarrel during a Lord Ram idol procession at Wadi town in Kalaburagi district.
The prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144, which will remain in force until 6 am on January 25.

*GREENWASHING* is designated as an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India. The Act prohibits such deceptive claims and outlines penalties and remedies for consumers adversely affected by these misleading practices.

1. Classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) will provide third-party inspection services for the INS Sindhukirti submarine which is currently undergoing a ‘normal refit’ at Hindustan Shipyard (HSL), Visakhapatnam.
INS Sindhukirti is a 3rd Kilo class diesel electric submarine. After completion of refit, the it will be combat-worthy and will join the active submarine fleet of the Indian Navy.
2. India sent back 184 Myanmar’s soldiers to their own country after they fled to Mizoram last week following gunfights with an ethnic insurgent group. A total of 276 Myanmar’s soldiers had entered Mizoram last week, and of them, 184 were sent back on Monday, The soldiers had entered Bandukbanga village at the India-Myanmar- Bangladesh trijunction and approached the Assam Rifles.
3. The Indian Navy is closely monitoring the movement of the Chinese ocean research vessel XIANG YANG HONG 03, which is reported to be heading towards Male, the capital of the Maldives.
