1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of Pran Pratishtha at Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya Dham, sending her heartfelt wishes. PM Modi will participate in Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya at around 12 noon today.

2. The stage is all set for the much-awaited consecration ceremony of Ram Lala in Ayodhya today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in this historic ceremony. People from all walks of life are going to attend this grand event in the city of Lord Ram.

3. Temples across the country and different Hindu outfits across the country have been creating a Rammaya ambiance on the eve of Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram in Ayodhya today.

4. The donations for Ram Temple went live on the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra as a featured biller, making donations as effortless as mobile recharges.

5. The Tamilnadu Government has clarified that there is no restraint on conducting special pujas and Annadhanam for today’s event.

7. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will confer the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2024 to nineteen exceptional children in New Delhi today. The award will be conferred upon 19 children selected from all regions of the country for their exceptional achievements in the fields of Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Social Service and Sports. There are nine boys and ten girls among the awardees belonging to 18 States and Union Territories.

8. PM Modi will inaugurate the nine-day event marking Parakram Diwas on Tuesday at Delhi’s Red Fort.

9. DMK MP A Raja on Sunday said Tamil Nadu needs Dravidian nationalism and Tamil nationalism, not Hindu nationalism. His remark came on the eve of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

10. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should avoid visiting the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva at Batadrava on January 22, as there can be no competition between Lord Ram and the medieval age Vaishnav saint revered as an icon in the state.

*The managing committee of the Batadrawa Than also asked Gandhi to visit the place after 3 pm on Monday and not during the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

11. The Andhra Pradesh government has started a 10-day-long of “caste survey”, aimed at creating a comprehensive caste-based database of people.

In West Bengal, Kolkata is bracing for over 35 rallies on Monday, the Kolkata Police in a massive security arrangement has taken several steps to prevent any untoward incidents in and around the city. Rally will witness West Bengal CM and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Sampriti Rally’ and 35 other processions.

13. In Ladakh, the annual Ethnic Mamani Festival was organized at Historical Styangkung Village and Chiktan Shagaran. The Steyangkung village is around 500 years old and still well-preserved till now and being developed as one of the well-maintained heritage villages in Ladakh.

14. In view of extreme cold weather conditions in Jammu Division, Directorate of School Education Jammu today extended vacations from January 22 to January 27 for all schools up to 12th standard in summer zones of the region.

15. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra appears to be a significant milestone in connecting the people of the border areas of Uttarakhand with government schemes. This ambitious Yatra is effectively informing and connecting a large population of Uttarakhand with various government initiatives.

16. New mosque construction in India’s Ayodhya to begin in May 2024: Haji Arfat Shaikh, the head of the development committee of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) that is overseeing the mosque project, said this week that construction would begin in May, after the holy month of Ramadan, and the mosque would take three to four years to build.

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai alleged, that the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and police are denying permission, across the state, to private groups, individuals and party workers to hold events on January 22 to celebrate the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Police department has refused permission to show the Ayodhya event on Monday, on LED screens in public places.

1. India’s ICICI Bank (ICBK.NS), opens new tab reported a better-than-expected third-quarter profit on Saturday, helped by robust loan growth, although its net interest margin (NIM) shrank for the fourth straight quarter. The country’s second-biggest private bank reported a record high standalone net profit of 102.72 billion rupees ($1.24 billion) in the quarter ended Dec. 31.

2. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has suspended two board directors at the direction of the anti-graft ombudsman, It has placed V.S. Chakravarthy, Director (Commercial) and A.K. Tulsiani, Director (Finance) on suspension with immediate effect,” the company said in an exchange filing.

3. India’s Kotak Mahindra Bank (KTKM.NS), opens new tab reported lower-than-expected third-quarter net profit on Saturday, weighed down by higher bad loan provisions and shrinking lending margins.
The net profit of 30.05 billion rupees ($361.7 million) in the quarter ended Dec. 31.

1. Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter is all set to release on January 25. This will be the 16th film in the last 13 years. From 2011 to 2023, 14 films have tried to tap into the opportunity for a great box office number around the Republic Day weekend. Right from Aamir Khan Productions’ Dhobi Ghat in 2011, which collected 14 crore at the box office, to Pathaan in 2023, January 26 weekend has witnessed 15 releases.

2. HANUMAN movie is now inching closer towards 200Cr gross already. This success has once again brought the debacle of Prabhas’ Adipurush to the center stage. Films like Kantara, Akhanda, and Karthikeya 2 had references to gods and ancient scriptures. But ADIPURUSH was a film made on Ramayana and directly featured the characters of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, and Ravan among several others.

Despite having a strong theme and a terrific opportunity to tell the epic story in a grand manner, ADIPURUSH director Om Raut and team completely failed and received a lot of criticism for not portraying Gods and Ramayana correctly.

1. TWO IAF AIRCRAFT TO FLY ON ALTERNATIVE FUEL AT REPUBLIC DAY PARADE FLYPAST : At the Republic Day flypast, two Dornier aircraft will take to the skies in historic ‘Tangail formation’ to showcase not only the Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) attempt to cherish the successful military strategy that outfoxed Pakistan during the 1971 war by paradropping a battalion into the hostile territory but also its willingness to embrace an eco-friendly practice.

Both the Dornier 228s will be flying on a type of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) produced by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR’s) Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP). The IAF is willing to join the government’s efforts to align with the global agenda of having net zero aviation by 2050.

2. Women Agniveer Vayu soldiers will participate in the Indian Air Force contingent for the Republic Day parade this year, The Agnipath scheme, implemented in September 2022, provides four years of service into the Armed Forces of the country, after which those selected for enrolment in the Armed Forces as regular cadre, would be required to serve for a further engagement period of minimum 15 years.

3. The 75th Republic Day celebrations at the majestic Kartavya Path on January 26 will largely be “women-centric” with the central theme of India’s democracy and its resolve to become a developed nation. In a first, the parade will be heralded by 100 women artists with Indian musical instruments, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane said.

4. A 149-member strong contingent of the Bombay Sappers will participate in the Republic Day Parade this year, returning to the Kartavya Path after two decades with a woman leading the all-men team on their march on January 26.

5. Indian Army is set to procure 10 vehicles from BEML initially: BEML Limited, a ‘Schedule ‘A’ Company under Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India.

The Indian army has proposed requirement of 24 such vehicles for its 4 regiments of Arjun Tank. During the Vibrant Gujarat summit of 2024, the Vayu Aerospace review has informed that Indian Army is going to procure 10 Arjun ARRVs to start the procurement process. In 2018, the DAC has given approval for acquisition of Arjun ARRV.

On 5th September 2023, Indian has released an RFI for the procurement of 170 Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV) based on tracked platform. The Armoured Recover Vehicle (ARV) is a tracked platform which provides the capability to provide repair and recovery cover during operations.

6. In a significant boost to Indian Army’s Air Defence and Capability development along Northern Borders, the first Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) Regiment is being raised in the Eastern Theatre. Defence spokesperson Mahendra Rawat said.

7. A 10-day combined annual training camp for NCC cadets is currently underway at Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) campus. Over 300 cadets from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are attending the camp from 18 to 27 January.

8. Pakistan’s intelligence agency has reportedly shifted its strategy in the Rajouri and Poonch regions, deploying terrorists equipped with advanced weaponry, including German snipers, expensive footwear, and high-end watches.

9. The recent missile and drone strike by Iran into Pakistan has raised questions in various quarters, both in Pakistan and internationally, on whether the Pakistan military was capable enough to protect its airspace, which has been repeatedly violated in the last few years.

10. Chinese HQ-7 is an illegal Chinese copy of the French Crotale system: The HongQi or HQ air defence system is a copy of the French Crotale. In 1978-1979, China imported some of the Thomson-CSF Crotale systems for evaluation and secretly reverse-engineered them. The first Chinese clone of this system was produced for testing in 1983.
