1. PM will inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik to mark National Youth Day on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda tomorrow. The theme of the four-day festival is ‘Viksit Bharat@ 2047: युवा के लिए, युवा के द्वारा’.
2. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri – Nhava Sheva Atal Setu’. Earlier, PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of the bridge in December 2016. Built at a cost of over 17,840 crore rupees, the 21.8 kilometre long, six-lane bridge is expected to provide faster connectivity from Mumbai to Pune, Goa and South India. Notably, it is the longest sea bridge in India.
3. Ahead of the opening of the Atal Setu, also known as Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), the city cops have announced rules on the speed limit of the vehicles.
4. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that dense to very dense fog will continue in parts of northwest India during the next four days. It has predicted dense to very dense fog in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

6. PM Modi engaged with a delegation from the Muslim community on Thursday and presented them with a ceremonial ‘chadar’ intended to be placed at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The meeting was part of an event commemorating the death anniversary of the esteemed Sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti.
7. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that India’s first bullet train is poised to commence operations by 2026.
8. According to the Mumbai Police, the maximum speed limit for four-wheelers on the Atal Setu bridge will be 100 kmph. The speed will be restricted to 40 kmph on the ascent and descent of the bridge. However, two-wheelers and three-wheelers have been prohibited on the sea bridge.
9. The Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting full support from the people of Uttar Pradesh. Under the Yatra, 24 lakh new Ayushman cards have been made in the camps being organized across the state. Along with this more than 1 lakh 74 thousand new beneficiaries have been added to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
10. The Telangana State government on Wednesday extended the date for clearing pending traffic challans with a discount, up to January 31. The government announced a waiver of 90 per cent for TSRTC buses, 80 per cent for two and three wheelers and 60 per cent for LMV/HMV vehicles on pending eChallans issued under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
11. Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu who quit YSR Congress Party recently is likely to join Jana Sena Party. He has arrived at the Jana Sena party office in Mangalagiri to meet Pawan Kalyan.

On the third day of hearing before the Constitution Bench in the matter pertaining to the minority status of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Advocate Shadan Farasat appearing for petitioners argued that if the University ceases to be a minority institution, then that would hamper the education of Muslim women in India. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta objected to the argument saying that it belittles Muslim women.

Manufactured by Adani Defence and Aerospace in partnership with the Israeli firm Elbit, in Hyderabad, the Drishti 10 StarLiner, with an endurance of 36 hours, satellite connectivity and the ability to carry a payload of 450 kg, is the Indian version of the original Hermes StarLiner.
