Hearing the story of two young
children dying of hunger is
soul-crushing, but what could
we have done anyway?
Maybe not in their case but from
now on, we can be on the lookout.
As a spiritual master says, feeling
compassion is not enough, it should
be followed by a compassionate
action.
So, now, we must all pledge to take
care of our society and community as
a whole rather than just being
responsible for our own home
and children.
We should set aside money and
resources for the development
and inclusion of all. That is where
our duty lies, our humanity lies.
