1. The Lok Sabha has taken up the Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023 for consideration and passing.

2. The Lok Sabha has passed the Central Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023.

3. The Delhi High Court has deferred the hearing in a plea by expelled Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra against cancellation of her government accommodation because it wanted to wait for the Supreme Court order on another lawsuit challenging her ouster on January 3.

4. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to “meticulously and expeditiously” look into the allegations of over-invoicing by power companies belonging to the Adani Group, Essar Group and others.

The Allahabad high court dismissed Tuesday petitions filed by Anjuman Intezamia Masajid (AIM) and the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board challenging a bunch of civil suits by Hindu litigants seeking the right to worship at the Gyanvapi complex and “restoration” of a temple, while claiming that the 17th-century mosque in Varanasi was constructed over a pre-existing structure of a temple. Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal clarified that the Places of Worship Act, 1991 does not bar these civil suits, and emphasised the “national importance” of the dispute.

6. Authorities in Manipur’s Churachandpur district reimposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the criminal procedure code and shut down mobile internet after nearly 30 people were injured in clashes between two groups on Monday.

7. The Delhi High Court closed the proceedings in a petition by the Delhi Waqf Board anticipating demolition of a 150-year-old mosque at the Sunehri Bagh Road roundabout after the city’s civic body said the petitioner has not reason to harbour such an apprehension.

1. Recently the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has reportedly approved the purchase and integration of two technological kinds for T-90 tanks: the Digital Ballistic Computer (DBC) and Automatic Target Tracker (ATT), both of which are a component of the fire control system.

As of now, T-90 tanks are positioned manually to hit targets. The T-72 tanks will be gradually replaced by 1,700 Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCV), which the Indian Army is currently procuring. Battlefield Management System equipment will be installed on the FRCVs (BMS).

2. According to the exchange filing, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited signed Shipbuilding Contracts with the European client to construct three units of 7,500 DWT Multi-Purpose Hybrid Powered Vessels on December 14, 2023, for a value. of approx. 42 million USD.
