In time for Diwali, two of Sydney’s top tourism attractions, the Sydney Tower Eye and Madame Tussauds Sydney, are celebrating Indian culture.
Sydney Tower Eye
In the heart of Sydney, to kick off a four-week long feature ‘Diwali at Sydney Tower Eye’, special guests were invited to a Garba fusion dance performed to ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’ on SKWALK, 268m above Sydney.
With 360-degree views of the city, spectacularly lit-up in all its glory, SKYWALK was the perfect platform to celebrate the Festival of Light.
The sunset tour began with the customary sharing of stunning panoramic views and fun Sydney facts. As night fell, the group activated their light-up props for a high-energy performance by four artists from Sirens Dance to a backdrop of global icons the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Guests then previewed “Diwali at Sydney Tower Eye,” a series of vibrant photo moments, featuring a place to share a special message for loved ones, celebrating Diwali across the world.
Madame Tussauds Sydney
Down the road at Madame Tussauds Sydney, the global superstar Diljit Dosanjh’s wax double, in a brand-new Louis Vuitton look, took its place as the latest permanent addition in Sydney Live, the attraction’s music zone, alongside other iconic artists, including Rihanna and Harry Styles.
The multi-talented artist, who has just completed his first Australian and New Zealand headline world tour ‘Born To Shine’, was selected based on the consistent stream of requests from local and international fans, which accelerated following his epic Coachella 2023 performance.
“Diljit is a celebration of culture, unity and the universal language of music that transcends boundaries! His figure launch in a new continent, as Madame Tussauds Sydney’s first turbaned Sikh figure, is a fitting tribute to his fan base and culture here in Australia!” said Kaylee Ryan, Madame Tussauds Sydney Studio Creative Supervisor.
Guests can marvel at his likeness, which took a team of 20 artists more than nine months to capture, and Feel the music with Diljit Dosanjh, joining the superstar at an interactive DJ booth, with the power to control a top-hits playlist.
“I first saw Madame Tussauds while on a trip to London when I was young. Never thought I would have my own wax figure at Madame Tussauds one day!” said Diljit Dosanjh.
