More Gaza hospitals suspend operations as Israel hunts Hamas
Two more major hospitals in Gaza closed to new patients on Sunday (Nov 12), with staff saying that Israeli bombardment plus lack of fuel and medicine meant more babies and others could die.

Hospitals in the north of the Palestinian enclave are blockaded by Israeli forces and barely able to care for those inside, medical staff said. Israel says it is homing in on Hamas militants in the area and the hospitals should be evacuated

1. The Indian Embassy in Israel has wished the people on the occasion of Diwali. The Indian Embassy in Israel in its Diwali message said that Diwali symbolises “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

2. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has reiterated his allegation that India violated the Vienna Convention after over 40 Canadian diplomats moved out amidst a diplomatic row between the two countries.

3. India voted in favour of the United Nations resolution condemning settlement activities in the “Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in the occupied Syrian Golan” that was approved on Thursday.

4. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday embarked on a visit to the U.K. with an aim to review various aspects of bilateral ties.

5. External affairs minister S Jaishankar visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, commonly known as the Neasden Temple, in London on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Addressing the Indian diaspora at the temple, Jaishankar extended his Diwali greetings to the gathering and expressed the joy of being present “among our own people” during the festive season.

6. The Deputy Commissioner at the New York City Mayor’s office, Dilip Chauhan, on Saturday lauded the city’s office decision to announce Diwali as a public school holiday for the first time. Mr Chauhan said that the decision was the result of years of dedicated advocacy by the Indian diaspora and the Indian-American community.

1. Three Pakistan police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO), were killed and five others including a deputy superintendent of police sustained injuries after a terrorist attack on police in the Kari Shah Noor area of Pakistan.

2. Over 100 more workers of jailed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party have been arrested in Lahore in connection with attacks on military installations in May, police said on November 12.

3. A massive pro-Palestinian rally drew some 3,00,000 attendees to London on Saturday after police arrested several counter-protesters for trying to approach the marchers.

4. The Israeli military said it killed a senior Hamas commander Ahmed Siam in an airstrike, who was responsible for holding approximately 1,000 people and patients as hostages in a Gaza hospital and not allowing them to escape to their safety.

5. Cox’s Bazar, a popular tourist destination of Bangladesh, got its railway connectivity. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday inaugurated the much-awaited 102-kilometre Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar dual-gauge single railway line at a ceremony at newly constructed Cox’s Bazar Railway Station.

6. Russia on November 12 accused Ukraine of carrying out a series of attacks in the border regions of Bryansk and Belgorod, damaging five train carriages and causing one injury.
