Delhi Odd-Even Scheme 2023: Delhi government on Monday announced the comeback of the odd-even scheme as the national capital reels from the worst level of pollution. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday said, “In view of air pollution, the Odd-Even vehicle system will be applicable for one week from 13th to 20th November”.

This will be the fourth overall and the first since 2019

1. Polling for assembly elections in Mizoram in all 40 constituencies and for the first phase in Chhattisgarh in 20 out of 90 assembly seats will be held today.

The polling for the remaining 70 constituencies of Chhattisgarh and all 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh Assembly will be held on November 17. Rajasthan and Telangana, also slated to elect their Assemblies, will go to the polls on November 25 and 30, respectively.

This campaign, known as “Jal Diwali,” is scheduled to kick off on November 7, 2023, and run through November 9, 2023.

4. Amarnath cave shrine gets motorable road, first set of vehicles reach temple. The widening of the road from Dumail to the Amarnath cave via Baltal base camp in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir has been completed. The BRO’s ‘Project Beacon’ is involved in the restoration and improvement of Amarnath Yatra tracks.

5.Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link, the Anji Khad bridge: India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge is nearing its completion, with the structure ready and the track laying work expected to start soon. The Anji Khad bridge stands at a height of 331 metres above the riverbed.

6. In Haryana, the State Directorate of School Education has issued a directive to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts within the National Capital Region (NCR) instructing them to make decisions regarding the opening or closure of schools based on the Air Quality Index (AQI) in their respective districts.

7. Odd-Even scheme for vehicles to be enforced in Delhi from next week as air quality worsens.

8. PM Modi will be addressing the ‘BC Atma Gourva Sabha’, (BC आत्मा गौरवा सभा) Meeting of Self Respect of Backward Classes, to be held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad today. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend another Meeting to be held in Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

9. Union Minister Anurag Thakur criticized the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Telangana, calling it a major engineering error amid flood-related damage.

10. The 17th Jaipur Literature Festival is scheduled to take place in Jaipur from February 1 to February 5 in 2024, featuring the theme “Stories Unite Us”.

11. Manipur govt looks at restoring mobile internet in peaceful areas.

12. Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal today flagged off 100 mobile vans for the sale of wheat flour-Atta under the Bharat brand in New Delhi.

13. Information Commissioner Heeralal Samariya was on Monday sworn in as the chief of the Central Information Commission (CIC) by President Droupadi Murmu.

14. Rohit Rishi Appointed As Executive Director at Bank Of Maharashtra.

15. The Supreme Court Collegium led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Monday unanimously recommended names of three high court chief justices for elevation as judges of the top court.

Those recommended are: Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Augustine George Masih, and Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Sandeep Mehta, the Supreme Court announced on its website.
