Free ration scheme to be extended 5 more years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the extension of the PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojna (PMGKAY) scheme, which provides free foodgrains to over 80 crore poor people, for the next five years.

1. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit Mumbai, Maharashtra on Monday 6th November 2023). During his day-long tour, the Vice-President is scheduled to visit Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay.

1. A 33rd edition of annual International Maritime Boundary Line meeting between the representatives of Navies and Coast Guards of India and Sri Lanka was held on Friday (November 3, 2023) onboard INS Sumitra at the Indo – Sri Lanka Maritime Boundary Line off Point Calimere at Palk Bay.

3. The Supreme Court has asked the Indian Army to conduct a fresh exercise within a fortnight to reconsider the case of nearly 136 women officers lined up for promotion. In a plea filed last year, the women officers complained that the special SB-3 that empanels officers as Colonel had not met for 18 months despite the Supreme Court, by a subsequent decision in March 2021, directing the Army to grant all consequential benefits, including promotion and financial benefits, to the women permanent commission officers in three months.

4. The AWWA and Religare Enterprises Limited on Friday announced their long-standing commitment towards the welfare of specially-abled children through modernisation and holistic development of Asha Schools in New Delhi and elsewhere. Asha Schools are nurturing about 1,200 children across various cities in India which includes 500 wards of serving personnel and veterans of the armed forces and 500 children from civil backgrounds.

5. Army Medical Corps jawan Sep Yudhister, whose body was recovered more than three weeks after his missing following a cloud burst and flash floods in Sikkim last month, was cremated with full military and state honours at his paternal village of Khambi in Palwal district of Haryana.
