Delhi AQI: Brace for toxic air as peak pollution period begins

Experts are warning that the air quality in Delhi is likely to worsen over the next couple of weeks.

1. Eight Indian states have Celebrated their formation day on Nov 1 – Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.

India’s aviation safety regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has made a significant decision to allow scheduled commuter airlines to operate single-engine aircraft at night. This move is expected to enhance air connectivity to remote areas during nighttime hours, benefiting regional flights and improving accessibility to underserved regions.

6. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has said that mapping will be carried out in eight districts to stop illegal mining, and that it is being started from Yamuna Nagar district.

7. 24-Hour Water Cut In Parts Of Mumbai On Thursday. The cut is because the BMC will be replacing a 900 mm diameter water channel and repair will be conducted to plus leakages in water pipelines having diameters between 300 and 1800 mm.

8. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has reiterated that the government is committed to providing Maratha reservation. Speaking to reporters after chairing an All Party Meeting on the issue.

1. Bollywood war epic Pippa is set to be released directly on Prime Video. The film, adapted from Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s book The Burning Chaffees, features a screenplay by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan, and Menon.

Ishaan portrays Captain Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron, who played a significant role on India’s eastern front during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. The movie’s title, “Pippa,” refers to the PT-76 amphibious tank, commonly known as Pippa.

2. Indian production house which made Ayushmann-Tabu starrer Andhadhun is now developing a project on Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala.

1. The Army’s Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand successfully carried out inaugural firing of 70 mm and 20 mm turret guns both by day and night. Both the Army and the Air Force have inducted the indigenous LCH in small numbers and a bigger deal for 156 LCH is awaiting the government approval.

2. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth on Wednesday took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Jaipur-based South Western Command, succeeding Lieutenant General BS Raju, who superannuated a day earlier.

4. Scientists from China and Sri Lanka are conducting joint “marine scientific” activities on board a Chinese research vessel. The Chinese ship ‘Shi Yan 6’ arrived at the Colombo port last week.

5. The Indian Navy Successfully Test-fires Brahmos Supersonic Cruise Missile from a Destroyer. The BrahMos missile, first tested in June 2001, was jointly developed by the Russian NPO Mashinostroyenia and the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
