1. Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Tej has weakened into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over the west-central Arabian Sea. It continued to move northwestwards with a speed of 12 kmph during the past six hours and lies centered over the west-central Arabian Sea. The India Metrological Department has said.

2. Now cyclonic ‘Hamoon’ : The deep depression over Bay of Bengal moved north with a speed of 14 kmph during the last six hours and intensified into a cyclonic storm. The cyclonic storm has been christened ‘Hamoon’, a name given by Iran.

3. Indian Railways is running 283 special trains to provide hassle free traveling facilities to passengers during the festival season.

4. Election Commission has invited entries from media houses for the National Media Award for best campaign on Voters’ Education and Awareness. The last date to submit entries to the Commission is 10th December.

7. Delhi government last week approved the Delhi Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme 2023. Under this policy, all bike taxis will have to be electric from the day the policy is enforced, and all delivery service providers will have to transition within four years.

8. Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang chaired a high-level meeting on Monday at Tashiling Secretariat to discuss road connectivity from Chungthang to Lachen in the wake of recent flash floods. The meeting was attended by senior officers from the state government and Border Roads Organization (BRO).

9. CM of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has said that the state government is making all possible efforts to provide reservation to the Maratha community as admissible by the law.

10. Western Railway to cancel 2,500 local trains in Mumbai till Nov 6 :
2,525 suburban services will remain cancelled till November 6 due to a block undertaken for works that began on October 7 in connection with the construction of 6th line between Khar and Goregaon stations.

11. MIZORAM CM Zoramthanga on Monday said he will not share the stage with PM Modi when he comes Manipur to campaign for the ensuing assembly elections.

1. The US has emerged as India’s biggest trading partner during the first half of the current financial year despite global economic uncertainties and declining exports and imports, according to government data.

2. The bilateral trade between India and the US has declined by 11.3 per cent to $59.67 billion during April-September 2023 against $67.28 billion in the same period last year.

1. Armies of India and Malaysia on Monday began a two-week military exercise in Meghalaya’s Umroi with an aim to enhance operational cooperation between the two sides.

The Malaysian Army contingent comprises troops from its fifth royal battalion while the Indian personnel deployed at the exercise Harimau Shakti belonged to the Rajput Regiment.

2. The Army will start phasing out the first lot of vintage Cheetah and Chetak helicopters from 2027 on completion of their total technical life, as it looks to induct the indigenous light utility helicopters (LUHs) to replace them.
