Actor Zeeshan Ayub and Rasika Agashe to provide platform for playwrights globally through Sanhita Manch

Being Association started their journey to seek out fresh talent for writing in Hindi, and five years later, it is a matter of great pleasure that around 400 original, newly written plays in the Hindi language have been identified by them.This year around they extended their search in Marathi and English language as well.

Being Association’s initiative “Sanhita Manch” launched a nationwide search for such literary talent and they are proud to present the four winners of the contest this year. They got a panel of esteemed judges from the world of theatre and films to decide on the winners. The best Hindi plays were adjudicated by the eminent theatre personalities Smt. Purva Naresh & Smt. Sapan Saran, and Mohit Takalkar &. Prajakt Deshmukh judged the Marathi plays, while English plays were judged by Keval Arora and Quasar Thakore Padamsee. The winning plays will be published by the esteemed ‘Rajkamal Prakashan’.The Jury panel chose 4 plays this year for the presentation which will happen in four cities – Mumbai, Pune, Delhi & Jaipur. The plays will be compiled in a book as well which will be released during the festival.

Rasika Agashe and Zeeshan Aayub who are the brains behind reviving original writing through the initiative and feeling like proud parents when they see the initiative do so well! “Theatre is a therapeutic process and it helps in personality development. but to be honest it’s an opportunity to meet old, new friends in a common space, exploring new content, reading new plays, making, remaking and fighting and discussing and relearning, for me…so, we are here with the 5th edition of Sanhitamanch…let’s relive.” expresses Zeeshan Aayub. “I am super excited.. the fifth edition of the festival, our theatre group Being Association..our little baby has started walking on its own. What can I say, I am a happy mother!” adds, Rasika.

Along with the plays, an exhibition on theatre and multiple interactive discussions will be held during the festival.

The plays & discussions for the festival will be held at the Mukti Cultural Hub, Andheri West, Mumbai between the 20th to the 22th of october
