Internet ban in Manipur to be lifted from today. Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday announced that the internet ban will be lifted in the state from today. The state government had imposed a ban on internet services in some districts of the strife-torn state after the ethnic clashes first erupted on May 3. The government later lifted the ban partially, allowing broadband services to function with certain conditions.

1. Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has made significant amendments to the rules governing the listing of non-convertible debt securities issued by listed entities. These changes, which come into effect on 01 Jan 2024.

This AI-powered chatbot is designed to provide farmers with swift, precise, and accurate responses to their inquiries pertaining to the PM-KISAN scheme.

6. The RBI has approved the extension of Sashidhar Jagdishan’s leadership as HDFC Bank’s MD and CEO until 26 October 2026.

7. Government has revised the amount of ex-gratia relief paid to the dependents of deceased and injured passengers involved in Train Accidents and Untoward Incidents. Ministry of Railways said that as per revision, an amount of 5 lakh rupees will be given to the kin of the deceased person and 2,50,000 rupees in case of Grievous Injury. An amount of 50,000 rupees will be paid in case of simple injury.

The Ministry further added that in case of any untoward incident, an ex-gratia of 1,50,000 rupees will be provided for death cases; 50,000 rupees for Grievous Injury, and 5,000 rupees for Simple Injury.

8. Dr. Swati Nayak, an Indian scientist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), has been bestowed with the prestigious 2023 Norman E Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application. This honor recognizes her groundbreaking work in establishing demand-driven rice seed systems that engage smallholder farmers, with a special focus on climate-resilient and nutritious rice varieties.
