INDIA vs WEST INDIES, 2nd Test, Day 4
Test match being played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad

(a) India pick 5 wickets inside the first hour of day 4 as West Indies are bowled out on 255.

(b) Mohammed Siraj completes his second five-wicket haul in Test cricket. India lead by 183 runs.

2. India have broken the world record for smashing the fastest team 100 in Test cricket history. India reached the 100-run mark in 12.2 overs in their second innings in the second Test against West Indies in Trinidad to break the world record. India captain Rohit Sharma got out for 57 runs off 44 deliveries.

3. The International Cricket Council has fined India women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur for her behaviour during the third and final ODI against Bangladesh. The apex body has deducted 75 percent of her match fee and added 3 demerit points to her record.

She hit the stumps with the bat after the on-field umpire gave her out. Harman also spoke against the umpiring during the post-match presentation ceremony.

3. England vs Australia, 4th Test : Rain washes out Day 5 as Pat Cummins and Co. retain Ashes
Rain has won in Manchester and England’s hopes have been shattered at Old Trafford as the 4th Test between the hosts and Australia has ended in a draw on Sunday. The weather in Manchester didn’t show much chance of play — but when play did take place, Australia wrestled back the advantage from the English team. Marnus Labuschagne’s stoic century, given support by Mitch Marsh, allowed Australia to ensure that an innings loss looks less and less likely. Australia were only trailing by 61 runs with all-rounders Cam Green and Marsh still at the crease when Manchester’s weather played spoilsport in the remaining days of the Test match. With no play possible on Day 5 due to rain at Old Trafford, the 4th Test has ended in a draw. The outcome of the 4th Test meant England cannot level the series before the 5th Test and Pat Cummins’ Australian side has successfully retained the Ashes.

4. Asian Games: Vishal wins trials in Bajrang’s division, Ravi Dahiya ousted. Sujeet Kalkal, co-petitioner against exemption from Asian Games trials given to Bajrang and Vinesh, loses 65kg semis, fellow dissenter Vishal Kaliraman wins. Kaliraman, who hails from Sisar village in Haryana’s Hisar district, beat Services’ Rohit Gulia 7-3 to stamp his class in the 17-man field. Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Ravi Dahiya (57kg) endured a shock first-round exit to Maharashtra’s Atish Todkar. Still recovering from a knee injury, Dahiya was no match for Todkar’s pace as he repeatedly countered him to score points at will.

Men’s squad: Aman Sehrawat (57kg), Bajrang Punia (65kg*), Yash (74kg), Deepak Punia (86kg), Vicky (97kg), Sumit (125kg). *Vishal Kaliraman (65kg) makes the team as standb
