1. Train services resume on both lines in Balasore after Friday’s train accident in Odisha. 1. The Railways, in coordination with the Odisha government, has prepared three online links with photos of those who lost their lives in the Balasore train accident. Details of hospitalised passengers have also been made available. The move is aimed at “facilitating the families of those who are still unaware about whereabouts of their relatives”, the Railways said in a statement.
2. Trinamool’s Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira, being investigated in coal case, was stopped from boarding an international flight at the Kolkata airport.
3. The Kerala High Court stated the “mere sight” of naked upper body of a woman shouldn’t be deemed to be sexual or obscene by default. The court made the remark while quashing a case against Kerala activist Rehana Fathima pertaining to a video of her children painting on her semi-nude body. “Autonomy of…male body is seldom questioned,” the court remarked.
4. A passenger travelling on Kannur-Ernakulam Intercity Express allegedly tried to set the moving train on fire in Kerala. The man was taken into custody. “As it was an attempt, no one was injured. This comes days after a man set fire to a parked train at Kannur station yard.
5. Seven people were killed and 20 others sustained injuries when a tractor they were travelling on overturned and plunged into a canal in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur on Monday.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on June 5 said it has imposed monetary penalties on four cooperative banks for rule violations.
These banks are Kokan Mercantile Co-operative Bank, Bajirao Appa Sahakari Bank, Sawantwadi Urban Co-operative Bank and Shri Laxmi Sahakari Bank.
2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 2.20 crore on Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) for violating various rules and regulations.
3. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has directed SBI Life Insurance Co to take over the life insurance business of Sahara India Life Insurance Co (SILIC) with immediate effect.
