A display of brutal hitting from Mayers (54 off 24) and Stoinis (72 off 40) fired Lucknow Super Giants to 257 for five against a profligate Punjab Kings, the 2nd highest score in the history of the tournament. Kyle Mayers smashed a half century in just 20 balls as he got Lucknow off to a flier of a start and Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran continued his good work.

India’s top men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty assured a men’s doubles medal at the Badminton Asia Championships after 52 years after outplaying Indonesia’s experienced duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in the quarterfinals here Friday. The Indian pair won by 21-11 21-12. Rankireddy and Shetty now face Chinese Taipei’s Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin in the last four encounter.
Earlier, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu squandered a game lead to go down against second seed An Se Young of Korea in the women’s singles quarterfinals.
Sindhu, seeded eighth, pocketed the first game 21-18 but looked completely off colour in the next two games which she lost 5-21 9-21 to hand Young a place in the semifinals.. Rankireddy and Shetty now face Chinese Taipei’s Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin in the last four encounter.
3. Charles Leclerc beats Max Verstappen to pole for Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Tenth in the standings and with only a seventh-place finish to his name this season, Leclerc edged past Max Verstappen in qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Friday to end Red Bull’s streak of pole positions in Formula One this season.
