1. India has launched OPERATION KAVERI to bring back its citizens stranded in Sudan.

2. The leaders of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces said they would stop fighting temporarily after “intense negotiation” over the last two days.

The announcement comes after the American military evacuated US Embassy personnel from Khartoum, the Sudanese capital.

3. Mongolia’s first oil refinery, built and funded with Indian assistance, will be completed by 2025, said the country’s Ambassador Dambajav Ganbold.

4. Members of various religious communities, including Muslims and Christians in Australia praised PM Modi at an event held in Melbourne for his “ability to respect all communities.”The Vishwa Sadbhawana event an initiative of the NID foundation was organised at Bunjil Palace in Melbourne in Australia on April 23.

5. India is in discussion with Russia to inaugurate the Chennai-Vladivostok Maritime Corridor aimed at boosting maritime ties between the two countries.

1. Veteran freedom fighter, jurist and politician Md. Sahabuddin was sworn in as the 22nd President of Bangladesh on Monday, 24 April 2023 in Dhaka.

2. At least 12 policemen were killed and 57 people injured in explosions at a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Swat district’s Kabal town.

3. A video has surfaced online showing Dubai-bound Fly Dubai plane moments after it caught fire mid-air over Kathmandu. The plane caught fire just moments after it took off from Kathmandu airport. As per reports, the plane initially tried to land in Kathmandu after catching fire, however, the situation was deemed normal and it was redirected to the destination.

4. Thyssenkrupp CEO Martina Merz is seeking to step down, the German industrial group said on Monday. Following the announcement, shares of the firm fell by 9.2%.

5. Pakistani-Canadian author Tarek Fatah has passed away aged 73. Born in Karachi, Pakistan before emigrating to Canada in 1987, Fatah was an award-winning reporter, columnist, and radio and television commentator. A political activist, a fierce defender of human rights and a staunch opponent of religious fanaticism in any form, nothing scared Tarek Fatah.
