INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. Days after India rejected its attempts to rename some places in Arunachal Pradesh, China has again sought make comments about the Indian border state saying it “opposes” the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah.”China firmly opposes the Indian official’s visit to Zangnan as Zangnan is China’s territory .

2. Launching the Vibrant Villages programme in the border village of Kibithoo in Arunachal Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah said the valour of army and ITBP personnel ensures that no one can encroach even an inch of India’s land. The era when anyone could encroach on India’s land has passed and no one can dare to eye its border, Home Minister Amit Shah said.

3. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Secretary Sanjay Verma held a meeting with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova and discussed bilateral engagements. Emine Dzhaparova is on an official visit to India from April 9-12.

4. Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India held dialogues on bilateral security cooperation with his Vietnamese counterpart in New Delhi on Monday.

5. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Uganda for a 3-day diplomatic visit on Monday afternoon. On his arrival, the EAM was received by Foreign Minister General Jeje Odongo and Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Vincent Ssempijja.

6. Godda Power Plant being operated by Adani Power in Jharkhand has begun supplying electricity from its plant in Godda in Jharkhand to Bangladesh. S B Khyalia, CEO of Adani Power said.

7. Union Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, & Textiles, Minister Piyush Goyal to be on a three-day official visit to France (Paris) & Italy (Rome). Minister to be accompanied by a delegation of top Indian CEOs.

1. Four people were killed and at least 15 injured after a blast took place near a police vehicle in Pakistan’s Quetta on Monday.

2. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Pakistan Protests against Plan to resume Military Operations in South Waziristan Tribal District. The Jamaat-e-Islami is an Islamic movement founded in 1941 in British India.

3. China has started the third day of live-free drills near Taiwan in response to Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s recent visit to the United States.

4. Several cars and houses were left damaged after two separate tornadoes struck parts of New Zealand.

5. President Joe Biden to travel to Ireland & United Kingdom in part to help mark the 25th anniversary of Good Friday accord, a U.S.-brokered agreement that helped end decades of deadly sectarian violence in Northern Ireland.

6. Sheikh Hasina slams national daily ‘enemy’ of Bangladesh. She criticized Prothom Alo for acting under the “cover of darkness” after a seven-year-old child was encouraged to tell a lie about food shortage.

7. Louisville shooting is US’ 146th mass shooting and 15th mass killing… this year. Louisville Shooting: Nearly 5,000 people have died from gunfire so far in 2023 and almost 9,000 have been injured. Five people were shot dead in Louisville, Kentucky. The police identified them as colleagues of the suspect- two of them were close friends of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

8. World Parkinson’s Day 2023: The day is celebrated to raise awareness and educate people about Parkinson’s, its effects and to help and support the the patients ailing from this disease. World Parkinson’s Day is observed annually on April 11 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr James Parkinson, who identified Parkinson’s as a as a medical condition and published an article ‘An Essay on the Shaking Palsy’ in 1817.
