Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reviews public health preparedness for management of COVID 19

4. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday reviewed public health preparedness for management of COVID-19 with states in view of the recent upsurge in some states. Dr Mandaviya virtually interacted with State Health Ministers and Principal Secretaries from New Delhi.

CRIME REPORT

1. Kerala Train Fire Suspect Suffered Injuries: Shahrukh Saifi, the man suspected of starting a fire onboard a train in Kerala killing who was caught from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra on Wednesday, has suffered injuries and his health is not in stable condition, according to top intelligence sources.

2. An MP/MLA court on Thursday rejected the anticipatory bail application of Shaista Parveen, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case and wife of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed. On February 24, Umesh Pal’s security policemen Raghavendra Singh and Sandeep Nishad were gunned down.

3.The Delhi High Court dismissed the bail plea of Delhi’s former cabinet minister Satyendar Jain in the money laundering case. He was arrested on 30 May 2022. The court also dismisses the bail pleas of co-accused Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain in the case.

4. Palash Chandel, son of BJP MLA Narayan Chandel from Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa, who was arrested on Thursday in an alleged rape case, was released on bail after furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 25,000

1. Recently, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) issued an update to its Green Equity Approach (GEA) policy saying that it will no longer allow financial intermediary clients to support new coal projects.

2. Recently Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited (NLCIL) has generated 3,008 crore units of power in the financial year 2022-23, which is the highest for any financial year since its inception.

3. The RBI said on Friday that India’s foreign exchange reserves dropped by $329 million to $578.449 billion in the week ended March 31. The reserves had risen in the previous two weeks, and rose by $5.977 billion to $578.778 billion in the week ended March 24.
