1. Amit Kshatriya, an Indian-American engineer with expertise in software and robotics, has been appointed 1. the inaugural head of NASA’s newly-established Moon to Mars Programme.
2. The European Commission (EC) has awarded protected geographical indication (PGI) status to Kangra tea, a unique variety of tea grown in the Kangra district of India’s Himachal Pradesh.
3. Tripura is all set to host the first-ever G20 summit of the State commencing on the 3rd of April. As the State will bring the world to Tripura, important locations of the State have donned a colourful look with illuminations and wall paintings.

1. Finland Becomes 31st NATO Member After Turkey’s Approval but delayed Sweden’s bid to join the military alliance. With Finland joining, Russia failed to prevent a further extension of NATO. Finland shares a border of 1309 kilometers, or 813 miles, with Russia.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance formed in 1949 with the signing of the Washington Treaty, NATO is a security alliance of 30 countries from North America and Europe.
3. Richard Verma, an Indian-American lawyer, diplomat, and executive, has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources by the US Senate. This role is regarded as the State Department’s CEO and is a powerful position in the US government.
4. Russia has taken the presidency of the UN Security Council. The presidency rotates every month between the 15 member states, and Russia last chaired the council in February 2022.
5. A Christian man was killed by unknown gunmen in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Saturday. The victim, Kashif Masih, was at his home at the time of the attack. This is the second targeted killing of a person belonging to a minority community in the country within 24 hours as a Sikh shopkeeper was also killed in Peshawar on Friday.
6. International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday approved a $15.6 billion loan for Ukraine to support its stability and economic recovery amid war with Russia.
7. Iran’s Chief Justice Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i has reportedly said that women who appear in public without hijab will be prosecuted “without mercy”.
