In a busy life, Copi is a father who tries to teach the right way to his son, Paste. But… what is the correct path?
This eight-minute short animated film beautifully captures a poignant yet universal facet of a parent-child relationship. Every parent feels a responsibility to prepare his or her child for the real world. But what happens when this ‘real world’ is dreary, with too much discipline, too many rules and soul-crushing monotony? What if this ‘real world’ is completely devoid of any colour or cheer?
The situations and emotions in this film are so relatable that it is easy to forget the unrealistic aspects that constitute this animated universe, such as the changing colours of the characters with a change in their emotion. It goes to show how an exaggerated, simplistic or even a metaphorical depiction can show life with a far greater precision than we allow ourselves to see with our very own eyes.
