📜 Which is India’s first national park?
Jim Corbett National Park
Set up in 1936 as Hailey National Park, in the Nainital region of present-day Uttarakhand, it is India’s oldest national park. It was renamed Ramganga National Park after Independence and then Corbett National Park in the mid-1950s, in honour of the hunter-turned-conservationist and author Jim Corbett. Project Tiger was launched here on 1 April 1973.
