📜 Which city got India’s first Metro railway?
Kolkata
India’s first Metro service began in Kolkata on 24 October 1984, on a 3.4-km stretch between Esplanade and Bhowanipore (now Netaji Bhavan). It is also India’s first underground railway, and in 2010 it became a separate zone of Indian Railways. Delhi got its Metro in 2002.
