The event had a theme called “Miles for Fear: Every Woman Deserves to Feel Safe.” The run was meant to bring attention to women’s safety, equality and the right to move around without fear. The event encouraged people to think about more than the race. It was about taking responsibility to make public places safer for women. The run was won by Shilpa Kumari, a third year elementary education student. 2nd position was bagged by Gargi Goswami, a first year student pursuing B.com Honours and Tishika, a first year B.com Honours student won the 3rd position.

He said this would help empower women and make the college community more aware of safety. His idea showed that awareness is important. Practical steps are also needed to give women the skills and confidence they need.

Alisha Gandhi spoke to the people who were at the event. She said something that captured the feeling of the run:

“Not every race is for winning the ultimate race to be won is the race of life.”

Her words showed how strong, brave and determined people need to be to face life’s challenges. These are qualities that go beyond sports.

The Sports Union President. Said, “Safety is not a privilege; it is a fundamental right.” This message was the idea of the run. Every woman deserves to live to move and to work towards her goals without fear.

The event had a lot of students taking part. They came together to support women’s safety. It showed how important it is for people to work as a group to make spaces safer for women.

The top 20 runners got prizes. The prizes were given by Not only Vanilla a company started by Ms Kritika, who used to play basketball. The prizes were a way to celebrate the runners and make the event more exciting.

Through the Miles for Fear event the LSR Annual Run 2026 showed how sports can be used to bring awareness to issues. The event reminded everyone that progress is not only about how far people run, but also about how far they go to make the world a safer place for every woman.
