Happy Chaitra Navratri 2023: One of the most auspicious times of the year in Hinduism is here again. The festival of Chaitra Navratri is right around the corner. It begins on March 22 and ends on March 30.

1. President Droupadi Murmu greets citizens on eve of Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba.

2. President Droupadi Murmu to confer Padma Awards for year 2023 in Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 22.

Total 106 Padma awards that were announced, six are Padma Vibhushan, nine are Padma Bhushan and 91 are Padma Shri. Nineteen of the awardees are women.

3. PM Modi will inaugurate the new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area office and Innovation Centre in India in New Delhi on Wednesday (22 March 2023).

4. The second G20 sustainable finance working group meet kick started off on Tuesday at Udaipur in Rajasthan with a workshop on non-pricing policy levers to support sustainable development.

5. Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi, North India, Afghanistan and Pakistan at around 10.20 pm on Tuesday.

6. Earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 at a depth of 156 KM strikes Hindukush Region at 22:17 Hrs IST. Epicentre at 384KM North West of Srinagar.

7. The Indian space agency, ISRO, has announced that it will launch its largest rocket, LVM3, on March 26th for its second commercial mission. This is the shortest duration in which ISRO has carried out two missions of the LVM3 rocket,

9. Minister of State for Culture Meenakashi Lekhi flagged off Bharat Gaurav Train- North East Discovery: The train will cover Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti, Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland and Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya in 15 days tour. The launch of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is in line with the Union Government initiative Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

10. The study titled “Pathways to Atmanirbhar Bharat” was released recently by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and The India Energy and Climate Center (IECC). According to this report, India has an opportunity to achieve energy independence by 2047 through investments in clean energy technologies.

11. Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday announced that all tests, treatment and medicines will be free for state residents at government-run health facilities in Chhattisgarh from June 1.

12. Tamil Nadu government in its budget has announced that a new wildlife sanctuary called ‘Thanthai Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary’ will be formed in Erode district. It will be the 18th such sanctuary in the state.

13. Rajasthan Assembly has passed the Right to Health Bill, which gives people right to avail emergency treatment at all healthcare facilities in state without prepayment, amid protests by private doctors. The bill states that healthcare providers shall not delay treatment in medico-legal cases to wait for police clearance.

14. Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter Usha Gokani passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday. Gokani, aged 89 years.

1. CBI says, it is closely monitoring movements of wanted criminals like Mehul Choksi in coordination with foreign law enforcement agencies.

2. Uttar Pradesh Police has seized huge amounts of cash and weapons from gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed’s old office in Chakia on Tuesday.

3. TMC leader Anubrata Mondal, who was arrested in the cattle smuggling case, has been sent to Tihar jail for 13 days.

4. Punjab Police on Tuesday told journalists that Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh escaped from police on a motorcycle after changing his clothes in a gurdwara. Photos and videos of the Waris Punjab De chief escaping in a car and later on a motorcycle have surfaced on social media. A massive crackdown was launched against Amritpal Singh and his organisation on Saturday.

In the video, the cars are seen parked in lines to form the movie’s title ‘RRR’. “Truly overwhelmed by this tribute to #NaatuNaatu from New Jersey!” Rajamouli wrote while tagging Elon Musk.

2. Actress Keerthy Suresh has reportedly gifted a 10-gram gold coin to each crew member of her upcoming film ‘Dasara’. According to reports, she gave the coin to 130 crew members.

3. Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited has been awarded a major contract by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) for Avionics Suite for Saras MK-2 Aircraft.

The Saras MK-2 Aircraft is the first Indian multi-purpose civilian aircraft in the light transport aircraft category being designed by the CSIR-NAL..
