1. The Union Cabinet has sanctioned the Green Energy Corridor Phase-III (GEC-III) project for improving India’s Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) to enable transmission of up to 135 GW of renewable energy. The total outlay of the project is ₹1,86,405 crore, which will include deployment of 50 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The projects are expected to be completed by FY 2032-33, for which the government will provide ₹54,082 crore funding.
2. The 8th edition of the e-auction of gifts presented to the Prime Minister has been extended until 31st of October. The Culture Ministry said this edition features 30 different mementos showcasing the diverse dimensions of Delhi. The 30 mementos include nine photo frames, nine mementos, and six idols, sculptures and statues.
3. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has submitted its recommendations to the Union Government, with a focus on extending gender neutral Child Care Leave to the private sector, mandatory paid paternity leave, and five lakh crèches by 2030.
4. The Government of India, along with the Union Territory of Ladakh, has officially named 28 geographical locations and features in Ladakh according to standard place and feature names on the Survey of India (SoI) map.
5. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) reviewed the enforcement actions, inspections and compliance status across the National Capital Region NCR for the reporting period between 8th to 24th September. Environment Ministry said, a total of 197 inspections were reported during the period.
6. Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that Railways achieved a historic milestone as the speed increased to 100 kilometres per hour on Katra-Banihal section and Vande Bharat crossed Chenab and Anji Bridges at 100 kilometres per hour. The maximum permissible speed on the 111-kilometre-long Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Banihal section has been increased from 75 kilometres per hour to 100 kilometres per hour.
7. Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that robotics is set to become an important tool across medical specialties, covering diagnostics, treatment and therapy. Addressing the International Conference of the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) in New Delhi.
8. The Government has extended the timelines under Component II of Resilience and Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF), a time-bound intervention under the Export Promotion Mission.
9. Gujarat’s Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, 2026, received Presidential assent on 2 October 2026 and was notified as Gujarat Act No. 15 of 2026 in the Gujarat Government Gazette Extraordinary on 1 October 2026. The Bill was passed by the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in March 2026 after a debate lasting seven to eight hours.
10. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C. Joseph Vijay introduced the expanded scheme of free travel in government buses titled ‘Vettri Payanam’ on October 2, 2026, from the bus terminus at Koyambedu in Chennai.
11. Khadi and Village Industries Commission Chairman Manoj Goyal informed that a special discount campaign has been launched across the country including Khadi Bhawan at Connaught Place in New Delhi. The discount is available till 16th of next month.
12. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh during the next two days.

1. Indian Naval Ship Trishul, a frontline guided-missile stealth frigate, reached Valencia, Spain, on the 30th of September as part of her ongoing deployment to the Mediterranean, Atlantic and adjoining maritime regions. The Defence Ministry said that, during the port call, INS Trishul will undertake professional interactions, cross-deck visits, and sporting and cultural engagements with the Spanish Navy.
2. The 18th India–Mongolia Joint Military Exercise Nomadic Elephant is scheduled to conclude today at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The exercise began on 21 September and focuses on strengthening cooperation and interoperability between the two armed forces.
3. The India–Kazakhstan joint military exercise KAZIND-2026 is being conducted from 28 September to 11 October. A 60-member Indian Armed Forces contingent is participating.
4. The multinational Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026 is continuing at Jodhpur until 12 October, bringing together the Indian Air Force and participating foreign air forces for joint training and professional exchanges.
5. In Punjab, Border Security Force (BSF) has neutralized two Pakistani intruders in Tarn Taran sector.
