1. India issued its first PRAMAAN certificates under the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme (IFWCS) on 29 September 2026. The certificates were handed over to the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation and a bamboo farmer from Odisha.
2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated four road infrastructure projects in Delhi on 29 September 2026 with a combined cost of ₹1,941 crore. The projects included the Barapullah Phase 3 elevated corridor, the Mukarba Chowk underpass, and foundation stones for the Modi Mill-Kalkaji flyover and the Savitri Cinema half-flyover.
3. The first consignment of 15,000 A-grade Lilium stems from Ladakh was flagged off on 29 September 2026 for major Indian flower markets. The consignment was flagged off at KBR Airport, Leh, and it included red, pink, white, yellow, and orange varieties grown in Choglamsar, Leh.
4. Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy’s earlier decision to drop the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam from Telangana’s redesigned emblem has added political significance to the current airport naming debate.
*Names linked to the medieval Kakatiya dynasty, including Kakatiya, Rani Rudrama Devi, Prataparudra and Orugallu, have emerged prominently, with Rani Rudrama Devi reportedly among the names being considered. However, no final name has been officially announced.
5. Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi chaired a meeting in New Delhi with the ministry’s officials to review preparations for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026. The Summit is scheduled to be held from 2nd to 5th November at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
6. The Election Commission issued notification for biennial elections for 11 Rajya Sabha seats. This includes ten seats in Uttar Pradesh and one seat in Uttarakhand.
7. The first steel bridge for the Mumbai- Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project in Maharashtra was launched on 28 September 2026 at Dive-Anjur village in Bhiwandi, Thane district. The bridge spans NH-3, also known as the Nashik Highway, and forms part of the high-speed rail corridor being developed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited.
8. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall conditions over Interior Karnataka, Keralam, Mahe, Karaikal and north eastern states.

1. The Supreme Court questions high prices of cancer medicines
The Court questioned very high mark-ups some cancer medicines and asked the Centre to examine whether a uniform 16% trade margin could be considered for medicines.
2. The Supreme Court quashed Mulla Afroz’s preventive detention under the National Security Act (NSA).
*Case?* : In November 2024, violence broke out in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, during a court-ordered survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid. Four people died in the violence.
Mulla Afroz was later accused in connection with the violence and was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) in October 2025.
3. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition challenging the functioning of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and aspects of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The matter is expected to be listed next week.
4. National Investigation Agency NIA yesterday arrested four individuals in connection with their relation with terrorist organisation Jama’at Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). The agency today conducted raids in many places in West Bengal, including Purba Bardhaman, South 24 Parganas and South Dinajpur districts

1. The Opening Ceremony of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND-2026 was conducted in Kazakhstan yesterday. The ceremony was presided over by the Chief of Regional Command East of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Major General Zhenis Maralov and the Defence Attaché of India to Kazakhstan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled PRAHAAR, which stands for Policy for Response Against Hostile Activities and Radicalism, as India’s first national counter-terrorism policy and strategy on 23 February 2026. A conference on “PRAHAAR – CT Policy and Strategy” was held in New Delhi on 28 September 2026, and the strategy was discussed as a 10-year institutional framework.
3. Indian Navy’s frontline destroyer INS Ranvijay made a port call at Oman’s Salalah as part of an ongoing deployment, underscoring enduring friendship and maritime ties between India and Oman.
4. In a significant step towards deepening maritime cooperation between India and Kenya, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tarkash, a frontline guided-missile frigate, arrived at Mombasa Port in the East African nation today for an operational turnaround, which will run until 2nd October.
