Indian rowers Satnam Singh and Salman Khan have etched their names in history by clinching the nation’s inaugural men’s double sculls medal at the Asian Games, securing a bronze and showcasing remarkable journeys into the sport.
Satnam and Salman register a finish time of 6:13.25s. The Chinese duo of Xudi Yi and Yide Nie eventually won the gold in 6:09.77s, while UzbekistanтАЩs Pavel Sorin and Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov clinched the silver in 6:10.49s. The Indian duo finished 3.88 seconds behind the gold medallists.
Earlier, India narrowly missed out on another rowing medal when Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the men’s single sculls final, clocking 6:54.80
India has won 13 medals so far – one gold, five silver and seven bronze. It is now 14th on the medals tally.
