1. The Indian Super League (ISL) appointed Karan Yadav as its first Chief Executive Officer on 21 September 2026 under a new club-led structure. He announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post. Yadav previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at JSW Sports from April 2023 to September 2026.
2. Goalkeeper Savita Punia of India has broken Vandana Katariya’s record to become the most capped Indian women’s hockey player by playing 321 international matches in her career. Savita set the record during Pool B match between India and Indonesia at the upcoming Asian Games 2026 in Japan. Hockey India congratulated the experienced goalkeeper and presented her a ₹10 lakh reward for breaking the record.
3. India won three medals in shooting at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
In the men’s 10-meter air rifle individual event, Himanshu Dhillon won the silver medal, while Rudrankksh Patil secured the bronze. India also bagged a silver medal in the men’s team event of the same competition.

4. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has congratulated Suchika Tariyal on creating history by winning the Bronze Medal in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at the Asian Games 2026, being held in Nagoya, Japan. In a social media post, the President said that this achievement holds special significance for Indian sport, as it marks the debut of MMA at the Games.
6. 🇮🇳 India reach final: India defeated Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semifinal. Smriti Mandhana’s innings was a major highlight.
