1. The BRICS nations adopted the New Delhi Declaration on the first day of the Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi yesterday. The declaration calls for commitment to stronger multilateralism and deeper cooperation, stresses on deeper economic and developmental cooperation and advocates International order for developing countries to have greater influence in decision-making on global issues.
2. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held a virtual conversation with Lakhpati didis, women from self-help groups and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin across the country.
3. The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project recorded its 41st tunnel breakthrough on 11 September 2026 with the completion of Escape Tunnel-1. The 125-km railway line is being developed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited under the Ministry of Railways at an estimated cost of Rs 37,000 crore, and its target date for completion is December 2029.
4. Southern Railway has achieved 100% electrification of its Broad Gauge network, covering 5,068 route kilometres. The milestone was completed after electrification of the final 71-km Pattukkottai–Karaikkudi section in Tamil Nadu.
5. The Haryana Department of Technical Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. A government spokesperson stated that the MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The initiative aims to improve the quality and relevance of technical education in the state and enhance the employability of students.
6. In Punjab, on the occasion of Saragarhi Day today, tributes were paid to the martyrs of the Battle of Saragarhi at its memorial in Ferozepur.

The Government has approved 18 lakh 77 thousand houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0, giving further impetus to the implementation of the scheme and advancing the goal of Housing for All in urban areas. The decision was taken at the ninth meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee, held in New Delhi on Thursday.
8. A healthy Badri female calf was born on 11 September 2026 through Ovum Pick-Up and In Vitro Fertilisation (OPU-IVF) technology at the Academic Dairy Farm of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The Badri embryo was conceived in a laboratory and transferred into a Sahiwal cow as a surrogate mother. The work formed part of a three-year research programme involving ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, and G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.
9. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will commence operations from 6 AM on all lines today. It has advised students and passengers to plan their journey accordingly.
10. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall over Gujarat region today. The weather department said Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch are expected to face heavy to very heavy rainfall.

1. Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Friday announced to step down from key Congress posts after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered unaccounted cash, gold and luxury watches after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during raid at his personal assistant, Chandan Singh Jeena’s residence, in connection with a money laundering case.
2. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) successfully secured the extradition of Red Notice subject Amritpal Singh alias Gurpal Singh from Moldova to India. The wanted fugitive was extradited by the CBI in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Punjab Police. A team of four members of Punjab Police was sent to Moldova to bring back the fugitive. The investigation agency said that he was wanted in multiple serious criminal cases registered in Punjab.
3. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday conducted searches at 10 locations, including Kupwara, Kulgam, Bandipora, Baramulla and Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir. These searches were conducted in connection with a cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pakistan-based handlers of the proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba and their alleged network of local Over Ground Workers.

1. Solomon Pappaiah, born Sundaram Solomon Pappaiah on 22 February 1936, died on 11 September 2026 in Madurai at the age of 90. He was a Tamil scholar, orator, professor, and cultural figure associated with Tamil literature, debate programmes, and public speaking. Solomon Pappaiah received the Kalaimamani award in 2000 and the Padma Shri in 2021.
2. In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: A truck carrying 370 filled LPG cylinders caught fire near Amkol village. Firefighters managed to control the blaze, preventing a potentially serious incident. No casualties were reported.
3. In Gujarat coast: Two merchant vessels collided near Kandla Port, prompting an emergency response. Twenty-one crew members were safely evacuated after merchant vessels MV KMAX EMPEROR and MV TRUE MARINER.
4. The flood situation in Bihar is showing gradual improvement, although several areas continue to remain affected. More than two thousand villages across fourteen districts are affected. Relief and rescue operations are underway, while the administration is closely monitoring the situation.

1. India is set to develop a new missile and weapons testing facility at Junput in Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. The facility is intended to strengthen India’s defence-testing infrastructure and supplement the existing test range at Chandipur, Odisha.

The Indian and US armies began Yudh Abhyas 2026 on 11 September. The exercise is being conducted in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and Auli, Uttarakhand, and focuses on strengthening joint operational capabilities.
3. 🤝 India–Malaysia defence cooperation discussed: PM Narendra Modi met Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim during the BRICS Summit, with defence cooperation among the areas discussed.
4. The three-day Table Top Exercise of the Colombo Security Conclave concluded on 12 September 2026 at the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam. The exercise began on 9 September 2026 and focused on a coordinated response to illicit maritime activities in the Indian Ocean Region.
5. In Manipur, a team of Assam Rifles launched an operation in the area along the Indo-Myanmar Border in Chandel district and recovered a huge arms cache. It included 3 Pompi, 6 single-barrel rifles, 3 carbines, 2 Lathod guns, 2 grenades, 2 IEDs and ammunition.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) imposed a monetary penalty of ₹1 crore on IndusInd Bank for non-compliance with insurance-related grievance redressal and reporting requirements.
