1. India and Sri have signed defence pacts to upgrade Sri Lankan Air Force air-defence guns and expand military exchanges and training programmes. The agreements were signed during Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Colombo.
2. An 8th Indian Air Force aircraft carrying 35 tonnes of relief and rescue supplies has departed for flood-hit Nepal.
3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and discussed strengthening cooperation for regional peace, security and stability. Sri Lanka also reiterated its support for India’s security concerns.
4. Thailand’s Interior Ministry has said that Indian tourists holding ordinary passports are exempted from visa requirements and permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 30 days. The exemption will be implemented with effect from 15 of this month.
5. India has condemned the reported Houthi attacks on Saudi soverign territory, especially the targeting of civilian and economic facilities.
6. Ahead of the BRICS Leaders’ Summit to be held in New Delhi later this week, the two-day final BRICS Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ meeting began in Mumbai yesterday.
