1. The three-day BRICS Chief Justices’ Forum has begun in New Delhi. The forum has brought together Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme Courts and senior judicial leaders from BRICS Member States and Partner Countries.
2. Ialian Prime Minister Giorgia thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes on her government becoming the longest-serving in the history of the Italian Republic.
3. India has announced the decision to appoint a Defence Attache to Brussels complementing Belgium placing a Defence Attache in New Delhi earlier this year.
4. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri hosted a Quad Sherpas’ Meeting in New Delhi on Thursday. The Ministry of External Affairs said the discussions covered key areas of Quad cooperation, including maritime and transnational security, economic prosperity and security, critical and emerging technologies, and humanitarian assistance and emergency response.
5. India has sent two more aircraft with relief material to Nepal to support ongoing relief and rescue efforts in flood-affected areas. The External Affairs Ministry said that both C-130J aircraft carrying 21.5 tonnes of humanitarian assistance landed in Kathmandu.
6. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju held a series of bilateral meetings with leaders from several nations on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Serbia’s capital Belgrade.
7. India and Poland exchange views on major global and regional developments.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said India and Poland are working on a series of agreements in key areas, including cyber security, space, and clean coal, expressing confidence that these initiatives will add greater depth and substance to bilateral relations.
