1. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has congratulated the workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on its victory in the Panjab University Students’ Union elections.

2. ISRO will launch GSLV-F17 carrying EOS-05 on September 4, 2026. The advanced Earth observation satellite will become India’s first imaging satellite to operate from a geosynchronous orbit.

3. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called for sustained pressure on terror networks and intensified area domination operations to decisively eliminate emerging security threats in the Union Territory.

4. The month-long population enumeration in snow-bound areas of Jammu & Kashmir will began yesterday, with enumerators set to physically visit households to record details in 16 districts of the Union Territory.

5. The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) yesterday conferred its first-ever postgraduate degrees on IIS Officer Trainees in New Delhi, marking a historic milestone as a deemed University.

6. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi today said that NCERT has played an important role in the Indian education system for more than six decades, particularly through its textbooks, learning materials, and curriculum frameworks. The Minister was speaking at the 66th Foundation Day celebrations of NCERT at its headquarters in New Delhi.

7. The Maharashtra government announced a comprehensive Whole-of-Government Approach to eradicate drugs from the state by 2029 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

8. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday reviewed two schemes, Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the progress of Watershed Development Component (WDC-PMKSY) of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana in New Delhi. The meeting focused on accelerating implementation of the PM-DDKY scheme in the 100 identified districts.

9. Indian Railways has approved one hundred twenty five crore rupees Bhavnagar Para Yard Remodeling Project in Gujarat.

10. Indian Railways has also approved 170 crore rupees for Kavach 4.0 on the remaining 712 Route Kilometres of Moradabad Division, Northern Railway.

11. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed that eligible poor and meritorious Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students admitted to government medical and engineering colleges will not have to deposit admission, tuition and other applicable fees at the time of admission or for six months afterwards.

12. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

1. West Bengal’s new civic rules come into effect from yesterday 01 Sep. The stricter measures provide for fines for spitting, littering, public urination and open defecation. Penalties will also be imposed for using banned plastic bags, illegal dumping of waste and keeping construction materials on public roads.

2. The Government has reduced the stock holding limit for sugar dealers from four thousand quintals to two thousand quintals effective from the 15th of this month till the 30th of November this year.

3. Government has welcomed the decision announced by the CJP to call off the protest scheduled for September the 5th, Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda assured that the cases registered against the protesting students would be withdrawn and that no harsh action would be taken against them in the future.

4. The Assam–Mizoram dispute continues to affect trucks travelling toward Mizoram, with vehicles reportedly stranded on the Assam side.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday reviewed the annual performance of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in New Delhi. In his address, he underlined that in the year 2025-26, India achieved defence production worth nearly 1.8 lakh crore rupees with DPSUs contributing 1.29 lakh crore rupees.

2. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari yesterday inaugurated ‘Arjun Vahini’, a specialised disaster response squad, at Nabanna in Kolkata. The 200-member force comprises Army personnel below the age of 40, recruited through the State Sainik Board.

3. The fourth edition of the Tri-Services Future Warfare Course concluded in New Delhi on 30 August 2026 after a four-week programme that began on 3 August 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre. The course was conducted under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff and coordinated by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies.

Tri-Services Military Education
The Tri-Services Future Warfare Course is a professional military education programme for officers of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. It also includes participants from academic institutions, government bodies, and the strategic defence industry.
