In Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh: A private travel bus collided with an auto-rickshaw near Chilakaluripet on Thursday morning. At least 7 people were killed and 8 injured, including four children.
2. Two persons were killed after a Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft operated by Garg Aviation Ltd., Kanpur, crashed near the Ganga Barrage on Thursday.
The aircraft, bearing registration VT-NBV, was on a training flight within the local flying area of the Kanpur Civil Airport when it met with an accident approximately five nautical miles from the airport, near the Ganga Barrage.

1. ⚓ Indian Navy receives first multi-purpose vessel “Samarthak” The Navy has received Samarthak, built by L&T. It will support maritime surveillance, reconnaissance and testing of weapons and sensors.
On August 27, 2026, the Indian Navy received “Samarthak,” its first indigenous multi-purpose vessel (MPV), built by L&T Shipyard in Kattupalli. The ₹887-crore project features over 75% indigenous content to support surveillance, testing, and fleet operations.
2. Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, performed the Bhoomi Pujan for T-Series Tanks Overhaul Project at Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur — a unit of Mini Ratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) on Thursday.
The project involves the creation of overhauling facilities for T-72 and T-90 Tanks with an estimated cost of Rs 472 crore, another milestone in the nation’s journey towards self-reliance.
3. 🪂 DRDO tests high-altitude combat parachute DRDO successfully tested its indigenous Military Combat Parachute System from around 22,000 feet, including operations in temperatures as low as −15°C.
4. DRDO missile technology opened to private industry A major policy decision allows qualified Indian private companies to manufacture DRDO-developed conventional missile systems, potentially increasing production capacity and reducing dependence on imports.
