1. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today interacted with MY Bharat-NSS volunteers during the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi. Addressing the volunteers, Dr Mandaviya appreciated their contribution towards social service and encouraged them to actively participate in initiatives aimed at building a Viksit Bharat.
2. In Men’s Cricket, 🇮🇳India were 288 for 2 in their first innings at stumps on day one of the first Test against hosts Sri Lanka🇱🇰 at Galle International Cricket Stadium. Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bat first.
3. In Hockey, India defeated Wales 3-1 yesterday in a Group D match of the FIH Hockey World Cup in Amstelveen, Netherlands. For India, captain Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals, while Sanjay Rana scored one. Sam Welsh scored the lone goal for Wales.
