Guwahati, August 10 2026: Jorhat Stallions cruised to a nine-wicket win over Tezpur Titans, chasing down 161 convincingly in match number 19 of the Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League 2026 at the ACA Stadium, Guwahati on Monday. The result lifts Stallions to fourth place on the points table.
Erik Roy produced a sensational unbeaten knock at the top of the order to guide Stallions home in style. In the first innings, Hridip Deka starred with the ball, picking up three wickets to restrict Tezpur Titans to 160/6.
Opting to bat, Titans had a shaky start as they lost Wasim Akram Haque to a run-out inside the powerplay. Avijit Singha Roy then anchored the innings with 39 off 35 balls, while Nihar Deka chipped in with 16 as the pair steadied things for their side. Roshan Topno and Dharani Rabha also got starts but couldn’t convert, both falling to Hridip Deka, who finished with figures of 3/25. Abhilash Gogoi and Rajjak Uddin Ahmed picked up a wicket apiece as well.
Titans had a strong finish as Danish Ahmed produced a blistering cameo in the closing overs, smashing 36 off just 15 balls, including four sixes, while skipper Ayushman Malakar added a quick-fire 18 off 9 balls to help their team post a competitive total on the board.
In reply, Stallions were given a flying start by Roy as he took on the bowlers at will in the powerplay. He was supported by Swarupam Purkayastha (34* off 20 balls) and Rajveer Singh (30 off 32) as the top three broke the back of the run chase with an exquisite range of strokes.
Roy raced to an unbeaten 94 off just 59 balls, striking ten fours and five sixes in the process. He now holds the record for the second-highest individual score in the tournament. Courtesy his sensational knock, Stallions registered their second win, chasing down 161 in 18.1 overs to complete a dominant nine-wicket victory.
