India’s first Bhojpuri celebrity reality show, Bhojpuri Bawaal, featuring some of the biggest names from the Bhojpuri entertainment industry, is currently on air. The sister duo Superstar Amrapali Dubey and Aanchal Dubey are seen in the show.
When asked about the reasons for participating in the show, Aanchal says, ”I didn’t really have a choice about participating in Bhojpuri Bawaal, because I’m Amrapali Dubey’s sister, and the show followed her life. I’m a part of her life, and a lot of her decisions, a lot of her journey, has me in it. That’s the reason I didn’t hesitate. It is a way to give back to Amrapali, because she has helped me through a lot of things in my life. I thought that if I could add any value through my presence on the show, I’d love to do that.”
Talking about the preparation for the show Aanchal says, ”Honestly, I’m not preparing anything for the show. Everything is new to me. This isn’t just my first show, it’s the first time I’m even coming on any OTT platform or TV channel. I don’t know what I should do or how I should prepare.”
This reality show has many big names from the Bhojpuri industry. Aanchal says,”So there are a lot of names from the industry, and most of them I know personally. I know Dinesh Lal Yadav Ji, Pawan Singh. Tej Pratap Yadav is new to me, I don’t know him personally. I don’t have any issue facing them because I’ve never come face-to-face with any of the other contestants apart from Dinesh ji. Dinesh and I have a very good relationship. We’ve always been friends since Amrapali’s first film, and that friendship has continued and grown. It’s grown so much that his family, his kids, his brother’s kids, all of them are now a huge part of my life. We talk a lot, we meet a lot. I’m just happy that I got to be a part of this.”
Aanchal also shares her point of view on the reality show genre. “As I said, this is my first show, so everything is new for me, including the pros and cons of it. I haven’t really thought too much about my opinion on this topic, but I’m ready to face whatever comes. I think whatever has been shot so far is all in a positive light, and it’s just me and Amrapali, how we really are in real life. I’m just staying true to myself, whatever people have to say. I haven’t really thought about the pros and cons. I don’t come from an acting background, I don’t consider myself an actor, so whatever the result of the show is, I’m fine with that. The message to my audience is that I’m the same person you see on the show as I am off cameras. I’ll always be the same, irrespective of whatever profession I choose or how I act, because that’s who I am, and that will never change. She adds, “If there’s anything people don’t like about me, I’d always appreciate constructive feedback because that’s how we learn and improve. I just hope they continue to support me and keep me in their prayers, the way I always wish the best for my audience. I genuinely love what I do, and I’ll keep doing it with honesty. I also hope Amrapali’s fans accept me and enjoy the show. At the end of the day, all I can do is give my best.”
