The scam uses fake or AI-generated profiles to lure victims into paying booking fees, security deposits and advance payments, with scammers potentially using personal information for blackmail.
2. Indian domestic LPG consumers have to finish their e-KYC on Aadhaar by August 15 to avail LPG subsidy and other benefits.
3. The government has debunked a message circulating on social media claiming that India Post is offering gifts and rewards under ‘Dak Seva Gifts’. 1. The Government has clarified that UPI will remain free for consumers and all Person-to-Person transactions will continue to be free of charge. The Finance Ministry in a statement said, consumers will not face any transaction charges while making payments through UPI, while the vast majority of merchant transactions will also remain free of charge. It said that if Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) charges are introduced, they will apply only to a limited set of merchant transactions above a certain threshold and at a nominal rate.
2. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key industry players and ecosystem enablers to strengthen support for startups and promote innovation-led growth.
The partnerships have been signed with Cashfree Payments, Darwin Dynamics, Vultr India, Cars24 and the Council for Startup India (CSI), covering areas including digital payments, fintech, deep-tech innovation, cloud infrastructure, mobility technology, artificial intelligence, investment and global market access.
