1. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology continued questioning Social Media company MetaтАЩs visiting global team in New Delhi on whether the company is complying with Indian laws. Official sources said, platforms operating in India cannot function solely under US laws and that the discussions were aimed at understanding technical aspects of compliance.
2. Commerce and Industry Ministry has refuted claims in media that India is importing and intends to import large quantities of ethanol from the United States for fuel blending, as baseless and factually incorrect. In a statement, the Ministry said that ethanol used for fuel blending under the Ethanol Blended with Petrol Programme is sourced entirely from domestic producers as per the domestic policy framework.
3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu reviewed sustained progress in India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership.
4. BRICS WAVES Bazaar, a premier international marketplace for the creative economy, bringing together over 500 delegates from BRICS member and partner countries, kicked off in Mumbai yesterday. 7. Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026 is the second edition of the event and will be held from 23 to 25 October 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The Indian Rice ExportersтАЩ Federation (IREF), which represents over 8,000 rice exporters, is organising the conference.
