New Delhi, 25 July 2026: Hockey India is reminding eligible retired hockey players to submit their applications for inclusion in its Sportspersons of Outstanding Merit (SOM) Rosters, with the application window closing on 31 July 2026.
As part of the process under the National Sports Governance Act, 2025, and the National Sports Governance (National Sports Bodies) Rules, 2026, Hockey India will constitute two separate SOM Rosters comprising 20 retired male players and 20 retired female players.
Applications will be considered based on the eligibility criteria, with preference for inclusion in the SOM Rosters given to eligible applicants tier-wise, in descending order of the tiers specified under Clause 2, Schedule I of the National Sports Governance Rules.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to complete the application process at the earliest.
The invitation for applications was earlier uploaded on the Hockey India website and can be accessed to know the eligibility criteria.
